TUITION

Whether you're picking up a guitar for the first time or are a fully fledged guitar slinger, my adaptable guitar lessons will help take your playing to the next level. With a First Class Honours degree in Popular music performance and as an active session musician and artist working within the industry, I have gained a wealth of experience and versatile knowledge that I channel within my lessons in a clear and understandable manner.

Teaching in a relaxed home studio environment, well equipped with a variety of some of the finest guitars and amps, my lessons are ready for you to just turn up, plug in and go.

"Excellent guitar tutor"

Todd is an excellent tutor, with knowledge of a large range of techniques and styles, as well as the theory behind what is being played. He is also a great player, capable of playing many styles to a very high level.

"Best guitar tutor I've ever met"

I had met Todd at the Ready to Rock School, he was the tutor and I was the student. At the time of meeting him, I had already been teaching myself to play the guitar for roughly a year. Todd was the first guitar tutor I had met at the Ready to Rock School and he left a lasting impression.

Todd is many things; friendly, supportive, patient, bright, encouraging and professional. Each lesson Todd gave, I walked away with something fun, interesting and memorable to work at throughout the week before the next lesson - scales, modes and exercises that I still use to this day in fact.

"An incredible guitarist"

Todd is an incredible guitarist, he taught me for years and as a result of that has turned me into a tutor aswell! I can't fault this guy, he's definitely a peoples person and his knowledge and skill around a guitar make him someone that I personally have always looked up to.

"TODD BLACKMORE - EXCEPTIONAL CHAP"

From November 2010, I have had the privilege to watch this extremely likeable and capable young man greatly grow in confidence, through his initial and understandably nervous years, as a new and young guitar student with us, through to the fine chap he is today. During his time with us, as a student, his progress was quite simply astonishing and his like we haven't seen as a student to this day.

Todd was 'born to play the guitar' ...with a name like Blackmore, it was pre-ordained and as he grew older and more confident, his natural ability to share his learning with younger guitar students shone through too.

His personality, obvious passion and ability for music meant that he was an obvious candidate for bringing him back in to the school as a guitar tutor.

As hoped for, Todd flourished in his role as a tutor, due to his ability to enthuse our students and easily liaise with their parents, building a natural rapport with both parties and delivering major learning and confidence building successes for the former, particularly for our students within the Autistic and Asperger's community. Todd demonstrated ownership of broader tasks in the general running of the teaching sessions and our charity gigs and still is a much valued and respected member of the broader Ready To Rock School Collective as a result, as no one really leaves Ready To Rock School...it's a much treasured 'band' of tutors and students, past and present.

I have proudly watched his progress through to obtaining his degree and his contined rise with the excellent JUDAS www.wearejudas.com.

I'm absolutely delighted to be asked to provide this reference for Todd.

Please contact me if you require further information.

Yours faithfully,

"Skilled, Patient and Kind Mannered"

My husband has only had one lesson so far but really liked Todd and found him to be a skilled, patient and kind mannered tutor, very easy to get on with and makes you feel at ease immediately and able to move forward confidently with playing the guitar.

"I cannot recommend him high enough"

I've now had 5 lessons with Todd and look forward to many more. As a beginner, I pepper him with questions that he always has answers to from technique, to music theory, to just having fun and enjoying the process of learning an instrument that is way more challenging than I first expected. The lessons are fun and massively useful. Todd is reliable and always answers questions even if outside the allocated lesson. I cannot recommend him high enough.

"He is very knowledgeable and has the all important quality of patience"

Just wanted to say Todd is a superb teacher from what I can tell so far. Lessons are well structured but fairly relaxed. He seems very knowledgeable and has the all-important quality of patience – which anyone who tries to teach me anything is going to need.

What I particularly like is the how the lessons are structured and how they progress logically. I have had experiences with music teachers before who take a more ‘what would you like to learn today?’ approach which is probably fine for an intermediate – but as a beginner it’s feels better to be lead by the nose a bit at the start!
